The Hero Art Project

Honoring healthcare workers lost fighting COVID-19

Presented by ARTHOUSE.NYC & the Brave of Heart Fund

They gave their lives to help others live

The Brave of Heart Fund partnered with ARTHOUSE.NYC to honor and celebrate healthcare workers and volunteers who gave their lives saving the lives of others. The Hero Art Project pairs members of ARTHOUSE.NYC’s artistic community with family members of healthcare workers to create portraits of these heroes to celebrate their lives, sacrifices and legacies. Each family is able to select the artist and art style that they feel most represents the spirit of their loved one. Many of the portraits in the exhibit feature families who have received a charitable grant from The Brave of Heart Fund.

About the Brave of Heart Fund

The Brave of Heart Fund was created to honor our healthcare workers who lost their lives to COVID-19 while saving others. The Fund supports the families of our fallen heroes by providing charitable grants and emotional support services to help them through this difficult time. To date, the Fund has granted over $20 million dollars to nearly 600 families.

If you experienced the death of a family member who is a healthcare worker to COVID-19 or know someone who might qualify, verify your eligibility below. The Brave of Heart Fund is accepting applications through December 31st, 2021.

ARTHOUSE.NYC is a digital art gallery and international art collective dedicated to supporting emerging artists by creating colorful events in NYC and across the U.S. to inspire and heal. The art collective wanted to give back to the heroic communities that have been on the front lines, so they started the Hero Art Project during the summer of 2020 and have continued to exhibit their art work across major cities in the U.S. This public tribute is especially poignant, as many of these families were not allowed to have public funerals or have the physical comfort of their loved ones during the pandemic.
